Junior System Administrator

About the role
You will be assisting in managing and maintaining the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of systems, networks, and applications. You will collaborate with senior administrators to provide technical support and implement new technologies that enhance efficiency and productivity.

 Key responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure (servers, networks, and applications) to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Install, configure, and update software and hardware systems, including desktops, servers, and network devices.
  • Troubleshoot system and network issues and provide technical support to users across the organization.
  • Assist with user account management (e.g., password resets, permissions, access control).
  • Support backup and recovery operations to ensure data integrity.
  • Assist in network security management, including monitoring firewalls, antivirus systems, and access controls.
  • Document IT processes and procedures for systems administration and support tasks.
  • Assist with system upgrades, migrations, and installations of new technologies.
  • Respond to help desk tickets and provide timely and efficient resolutions to user issues.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  • Participate in IT projects and initiatives under the guidance of senior administrators.

About you
The suitable candidate’s professional and personal characteristics include:

  • Technical education level preferably with computer science background;
  • Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience;
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Office 365, and common IT tools; 
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP); 
  • Basic scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash);
  • Familiarity with Windows, Linux operating systems and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure);
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V). 

Skills and abilities:

  • Being a quick learner and willing to learn is essential for adapting to new technologies.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills are key to succeed.
  • Keen to take opportunities to be creative and innovative to deliver under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent command of/highly proficient in spoken and written English. Knowledge of Dutch and Turkish is desirable.
  • Being experienced with system monitoring and troubleshooting tools is a major component of the IT team's responsibilities.
  • Ability of strong problem-solving is essential for both personal and professional growth.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously to balance several tasks on the go to bring value to the department and organization.
  • Understanding of network security principles and best practices is important to assist in network security management.
